Literature Text

You approached me
And told me you’ve been thinking
For a long time
About what happened then
And you tell me
Tell me you’ve been thinking
It’s about time
For you to be a man
Well I’ve been—

(chorus)
Waiting.
Waiting, Waiting for you.
Yeah, I’ve been
Waiting
Waiting to hear this from you

So go ahead, now.

You said the last thing
You wanna do is
hurt me… again
And I said
Apology accepted
Just don’t
Hurt me… again, mmhm
Cause I’ve been—

Waiting.
Waiting, Waiting for you.
Yeah, I’ve been
Waiting.
Waiting to hear this from you.

Next thing you tell me
You didn’t plan this part
But you still want me
Now how about that
And see its funny
But part of me cannot help but to
Agree
As a matter of fact I’m only—

Waiting.
Waiting, waiting for you.
Right now I’m waiting.
Waiting till you make a move.

And then you do.

Now we’ve got this situation
Not one of us foresaw
We’re facing contemplation of
A return to what before
And a total domination
Of hearts out of control
And both of us are trying
To make sense of it all

We need a conversation
It’s pouring rain till dawn
You walk on over anyway
And I meet you by the lawn
I’m sitting on the bathroom sink
You’re sitting on the floor
And you tell me what’s been on your mind
And ask me to do more—

Waiting.
Waiting, Waiting for you.
So I’ll be waiting
As long as you ask me to.

Because honesty’s
The best policy
You’ve been straight with me
And say you’ll always be
And won’t lie to me
Or compromise this thing
And that’s the reason, see
That I’m so willing to be—

Waiting.
Waiting, Waiting for you
Yeah, I’ll be waiting.
Waiting, waiting for you.

And while I’m waiting
I’ll be thinking, thinking of you
I wrote this song over Christmas break, after I recovered from getting my tonsils out.

Basically, my break consisted of "getting plenty of rest," aka more than a sufficient amount of time for my thoughts to collect and recollect. So in one afternoon I grabbed my guitar and just started playing. I considered getting out some lyrics-without-music i had lying around, but decided to just start singing what was on my mind... and this is what resulted. the first happy song i've ever written.

In a few weeks (maybe less) the final product will be uploaded to my music page at [link] -- check it out :)

--thanks--
