Honesty - Erin Byrnes - (C) 2007

You say you love me;
I say you don't.
You say please;
And I say no.
You tell me to listen;
I tell you I won't.
You ask for just one kiss;
I ask you to go.

Does honesty make me awful,
Or would you prefer a lie?
The longer we prolong the pain,
The harder we will cry.

He told me we'd make it;
I had to agree.
He told me I had him;
I said he had me.
He asked me to listen;
I said anytime.
He said they were his;
But the problem was mine.

Does honesty make him awful,
Or would I prefer a lie?
The longer he prolonged the pain,
The harder I did cry.

See I can cry for his love lost,
Or I can choose to see
That all he did was seek for self;
He never did seek me.
So pleasing was the end he gained
So sweet the victory.
I hope it was well worth it
To defeat my honesty.
Dear Prince Charming,

Hurry the eff up. These lying, cheating wastes of my time are getting on my nerves.

Love,
Erin
